Painted in New Orleans in the studio of Mike Willmon on Magazine Street, this is one of my favorites. The multiple perspectives combine to give a real sense of sculptural space inhabited by the baby grand piano, which was the center of our fun in our fishing camp at Lake Ponchatrain. The intense light and shadows enhance the compositional playfulness of ovals and diagonals that create a grounded dreamscape to the tune of Professor Longhair.
